I love love love the book cover and it was created in the same vein as the rest of the book. I put the word out that I was looking for someone who could do Art Journalling and the very person that I wanted to create it for me, a lovely friend called Joy, came forward and said that she would ‘give it a go’.
The design has been greeted with total praise, adoration and recognised for its appropriateness.
It is in collaboration, working with others, that I am at my most comfortable; drawing on every ones strengths and skills with me just co-ordinating it all until it looks like a complete picture. Feeling connected is vital to my sense of well-being and feelings of achievement and knowing this about myself, has helped me to learn how to operate at my absolute best.
The cover needed to somehow convey concepts such as growth, connectedness, inspiration, learning, wisdom, strength. The tree, an old tree, a well-established tree, seems the most natural place to go and with the butterflies as well, we can incorporate transformation and freedom into the picture.
If I had gone to someone who creates book covers that ‘sell’ would this have been designed in this way? I can’t say for sure, but my guess would be no, probably not.
The colours, the Art Journalling style and the visual impact all catch the eye and I believe that you will be tempted to open up the book and enter into the world that awaits you inside….a world of recovery, of inspiration and of triumph.

No. But the artwork would have been kept. It is lovely. Your title could use kerning and your text disappears a little as a thumbnail but It’s LOVELY. WRITE ON!
